One of my obsessions has to be matte eyeshadows. I think they are so classic and can be used in any situation from a daytime natural look to a smokey, sultry nighttime look. I like that they tend to look airbrushed because there's no chunky glitter and they almost give a soft focus effect to your eyes! So I just wanted to share with you some of my eye shadow palettes that are either all matte or have lots of mattes in them. (Tarte Top, Urban Decay Bottom)
1. Urban Decay Naked Basics:
This is definitely a staple for everyone. It has great natural colors, light and dark colors and they are all blendable, pigmented and have great staying power. 5/6 shades are matte and within those 6 shades you have a highlight, a crease, a liner color and several in between. The colors also range from warm to cool tones. Foxy and Faint being more warm toned while WOS and Naked 2 are more cool toned. I have had this palette for over a year and have barely hit pan on Faint. Overall I love this palette, it's great for travel and creating a variety of looks.

2. Tarte Be Mattenificient:
Obviously I love every palette in this post so I'll just skip my enthusiasm and share with you guys why. Tarte has some of the most buttery matte colors I've ever dealt with (I think it's the amazonian/ colored clay). I think they are actually my favorite matte eyeshadows of life. I use the lightest color in this palette to highlight my brow-bone everyday and it's my favorite highlight shade of all time. I do wish this palette came with a better range of dark-light colors because they seem to go from light, skin-tone colors to eye-liner colors. It also comes with a matte rosey blush which is a nice addition. So I didn't realize this was limited edition! :/ It may still be available on Amazon or Ebay.
3. Lorac Pro Palette:
Why wouldn't I include the Lorac Pro in this post??! This is one product definitely worth all the hype. Desert Island situation, this palette would have to be the one I would take because of the incredible variety. Light-dark, cool-warm tones, (and don't forget the shimmer even though matte is where its at for me). I love these shades because they are super pigmented and blend easily. Taupe is my go to crease color because I like it's slight warmth (not orangey but a more goldeny-yellow tone) which goes well with my skin tone. These do have some fallout so if your working with dark colors, do your eyes before the rest of your face makeup!

4. It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Palette:
This palette comes with very unique matte shadows. They are neutral but have some nice colorful shades like a burnt orange, a khaki green, a navy blue, and a lavender. The are so easy to blend and take no effort which is great if you are new to makeup or simply don't want to spend all your time blending out eyeshadows! Again, very pigmented like all of the palettes here. This also has a unique transforming pearl shade which gives any shade a pearly sheen to it. This is a great idea, however I find the transforming pearl to be a little to pigmented for this as it tends to alter the color of the shadow it's placed over. This isn't a problem for me though because I don't really use it, since as you guys know I like that matte shades on their own!

I really want to get the Stila in the Know palette next! Love how it's cool-toned and looks like it'd be great for some smokey looks. Also want to try TheBalm Meet Matte Palettes...but do I really need more all matte palette? ...umm yes because like I say, Matte is where its at!
