Tea Tree Oil and it's Many Uses

Lately one of my favorite things (besides my new Tarte palette!) is Tea Tree Oil! It's such a small and simple item but it has sooo many uses that I just can't get enough of it!

Like I mentioned in my eczema blog, tea tree is great at helping any kind of skin problem you may have.  It did help relieve the itch related to my eczema and reduce the swelling associated with it.  So not only can you use it on the body, but you can also use it on your face.  It's great when mixed with your daily moisturizer at helping to fight acne as well as excess oil production.

Also beauty related, is the fact that you can mix a few drops in with your shampoo and it'll help any kind of scalp issue you may be having.  It helps dandruff, itchy scalp, and it even helps to control excess oil production much like it does on the face.  I've actually found that several dandruff shampoos use tea tree oil as one of their ingredients.

One thing that I love about it also is that bugs hate tea tree oil!! All you have to do is leave some on cotton balls around the house or rub over the entry ways and it helps to deter the bugs because the scent is just too overwhelming for them.  This is great because this is a natural bug deterrent if you have pets or kids in the house.

Now, I haven't tried this but I hear it can even be used as a household cleaner! Check it out at Dessert Essence to get a full look at all the amazing powers of tea tree oil and give it a try for yourself!
